Instalment of El mundo de la mujer

In the Spanish magazine Excelsior, there is a page dedicated to women’s fashion titled “El mundo de la mujer” or “the World of Women”. On this page various clothing articles are illustrated and described with a focus on material, color and design.  By browsing through the different issues available that contain this section, we can find a certain pattern. The clothing items depicted are always below-the-knee, modest dresses for women and some type of hat. Girl’s fashion is not always a part of this section, however, young girl’s fashion is similar to the women’s:  the illustrated clothing items are almost always dresses. However, in one particular case a little girl is portrayed wearing dress pants as a part of a sailor suit-inspired outfit.
